Bio:

History
Rin Kuroiwa (stage name) was born and raised in northern Unova. His mother is a Coordinator, and his father is a Researcher. Family friends and acquaintances would have described Rin as a sweet and curious child who grew into a withdrawn, irritable teenager and chose to focus on his ambitions to the detriment of his social life. However, his mother, worried about where this change might lead, encouraged him to become involved in the community, and took him to Musicals, Contest Spectaculars, and League-sanctioned Tourney matches in the hopes of helping him find his niche. The attempt worked, and Rin has become a much better person for it.
In present day, Rin has developed an unflappable exterior and the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, qualities which he uses to his advantage on the contest circuit, where he supports his partner Pokémon to his fullest extent. His love of Pokémon is readily apparent, but he has difficulty making human friends, since his demeanor often lacks the appearance of warmth. However, those who get to know him a bit better quickly learn that he’s not quite as serious and severe as he seems.

Unbeknownst to most people, Kuroiwa is psychic, a fact that has shaped a great deal of his personal development. His secretive nature extends to other topics: he spent two years in Orre for undisclosed reasons, and he seems reluctant to discuss his family in sufficient detail for them to be identified.

This is his first trip to his mother’s homeland, and he intends to make his contest debut in Ecruteak as the cherry blossoms begin to fall.
